Olympia could muster only five base hits in dropping a 6-0 home decision to two-time defending state champion West Orange Thursday afternoon.
The Titans had their chances early, managing four hits the first two at bats, but they could not push a run across the plate. West Orange broke through in the third thanks to a two-run home run and plated two more unearned runs later in the inning.
Despite the loss, Olympia got a strong pitching performance from senior Megan Wilder. She tossed a complete game, giving up only three earned runs, seven hits, and striking out two.
Grace Turner, Caryssa Orland, Antwane Mitchell, Casey Heinle and Madi Wilder all had a hit apiece for the Titans.
Olympia (9-9) returns to action Friday with a Metro Conference game at Edgewater.
